Blissing out in Ubud

There is not much to say about our time here! The lovely busy town of Ubud is the ‘spiritual centre’ of Bali, and we have used it as our base to recover, rest and relax!

We have spent the time enjoying life: Craig goes to the gym, I spend hours at the Yoga Barn, we swim and read by our private pool, eat at the delicious, nutritious cafes. This was part five of our honeymoon, and definitely more similar to the ‘standard’ honeymoon!

We have completely recharged ourselves. Now we prepare for the culture shock of heading back to Australia; where we can flush toilet paper, drink tap water, use an ATM card everywhere, a car, “responsibilities”…

It’s exciting, but daunting.

The ‘heading home’ part of a long trip is the most stressful and overwhelming part: where nothing has changed, but everything has changed, you are a different person, other people are different too but for other’s nothing has changed, where some problems seem pathetic and superficial and others seem immense, you feel guilty for everything you are blessed with and are acutely aware of what others don’t have, where all you want to do is help but the world is so vast you don’t know where to start…

Coming home is hard.

Sadly, we do not many photos of our time in Ubud. We didn’t ‘do’ much, as in touristy type stuff; and my camera, my baby, is struggling after 7 months of tough travel. We did watch a fire dance one night (which was incredible) and we were there for the start of a festival.
